House Meeting 3, September 19, 2010

Attendance:
Absent - Nora, Beryl
Issues:
  • Stop slamming doors
  • Turn off lights

Events:
1. Bake Sale
- To raise money for jars and general house equipment
- Approval required by Student Life
- Senate funding preferred
2. Harvest Jam (co-ordinators: Dahlia & Xilo)
- Tentative date: October 8
- Include pie walk
- Cook for 100
- Menu: Chilli soup; other veggies; mashed potatoes
- Budget: $400-$450
3. Faculty Dinner
- Professors and Dons
- Mid-November

Budgeting
1. Bulk food containers
- Elizabeth has written up a budget proposal (yet to be submitted)
2. Grocery Shopping
- $20 this week
- CSA shares reduced to 4
- $180 = Perishable Food
- $35 = Bulk sugar, flour, salt
- Guest money = Fruit, onions, garlic
- No longer need farmers market, since we have a CSA

Chores
1. House positions
- Treasurer  responsibilities are too time consuming for one person
- Split work up to reduce stress
2. Grocery Shopping
- Community Partnerships car can be used once all community placements are determined (need approved van driver)
- Break up into 2 shopping trips (Trader Joe’s + Whole Foods; CSA, Bronx)
3. Garden
- Mondays 9am-1pm
- Send email to College Events.
- Liam has made budget proposal for cold frame materials
4. Cleaning
- Please squeeze out sponges and leave on the side of the sink, not IN it
- More recycling slots
5. General facilities
- Work order form for dishwasher and door (Poppy)
* Be careful of taking on too many responsibilities *
